Practice RADICAL Self-Love.




How do you do that? What does that mean?

It starts off with recognizing those moments when the activity dies down, and there is silence around you and you feel as if you should be "doing" something. Your mind is spinning and you are anxious, bored or tense.
Or perhaps, you have had an interaction with a loved one that has triggered some deep and powerful emotions - a repeating pattern that causes much angst.

It is uncomfortable being in your skin, and you want out. Out of your head, out of your space, out of the quiet - you want to escape to do something, look to someone to fill in that void.

Here is something you should know about those moments: You are exactly where you need to be.

**Once you recognize this is "happening" again -- first and foremost, give yourself PERMISSION. Say out loud - "Yes, I accept this moment fully."

**Acknowledge you are feeling what you are feeling - you can do this by stopping, placing your hands on your body where the feeling resides - eg on your solar plexus. And stay with it; if the feeling moves, track it with your hands.

**Gratitude always. Appreciate this opportunity to be present with yourself. It is not always pleasant to feel what you are feeling. In order to move through difficult emotions we need to FEEL them. Often we distract ourselves with other activity to cover up our feelings and this only ensures that the discomfort will return again.

**Breathe. Pay attention. That is IT. Go into your body with your mind, your heart, your being and feel as if you are gently and lovingly cradling what is happening with you. There is no need to change anything, or feel as if you have to make something happen. Any thoughts that arise, just let them pass through you. Just feel. No need to judge or identify - just FEEL. Be PRESENT. Cry if you have to. Take the time.

**The feeling will subside. Or perhaps you cannot be present because daily life calls you. That's ok - just know that when you begin to feel it again, all you have to do is follow the steps above.

It may not happen the first time or the 10th, but ultimately you will get what I call "the gift." For each of us it is different, but rest assured it is POWERFUL.

That is RADICAL SELF LOVE.
